Hmm, I remember them discussing it. Jayson was the most into it. He mentioned that he had a sheet for marking off time as it passed. I seem to recall one other strategy discussed was to use countable (such as little stones or pennies) to keep track of accumulating time. Like Lass, I think it was in one of the earlier episodes (first ten to fiften maybe?). Now I'm going to have to go back through and listen to them all again Laugh

I cant recall the episode either…. hmmmmm. Looking over show notes I think it may be Issue- 4 where they talk about "keeping track of things".

As Dramaman said, Jayson was the most pationate about it. Its also something that has been talked about subsquently with Nick I believe talking about the merits of 10 segments.

I'd like to hear a discussion about injecting humor into a game. Like how do you guys make something absurd work without derailing the entire game into sillyness.

I'd also like to hear you guys talk about dealing with problematic issues of group dynamics. How do you guys deal with the thespian RPer at the same table with the power gamer. How do you get the shy person going and tone down the loud one.

How about a discussion of the 2010 movie "Black Death" starring Sean Bean?  Details are here www.imdb.com/title/tt1181791/

Not a great flick but enjoyable enough and perhaps some good fodder for a DM designing an adventure…

OK so, you all know the segments we have. Well we want to know what you'd like to hear. Got a great idea for Table Manners? Great post it up and tell us why!

I like the idea of obscure spells.

While I know that 1st ed. AD&D is perfect (I didn't realize until recently that there were *editions*…I only thought there was one), house rules from listeners would be cool. How have the listeners modified the original game.

I'm trying to start an online gaming sessions with old friends scattered around the world. So more info on how you guys set up your Skype games and what tools you use. Now that you have run a few games (like the Book of Sorrows) what are some of the pitfalls that other on-line DMs should watch out for.

Finally, I miss the ol' Creature Feature where you would fight the monster. I love listening to other people play the game.

About the Author

Jayson played his first game of AD&D in 1983, and still plays with the books he bought from a musty secondhand gaming shop in Des Moines back then.
