I have not played Dragonlance Adventures, but I found the character alignment tracking an intresting topic. I think making character alignment a stat is great idea, but doing this gives more opportunity for abuse. Plus the story telling could get buried under people trying to keep just above a level drop. It could lead to a, “I can kill this king and not go evil, but I have to be on my best behavior after that”, mentality.

It would make for a better story if a Paladin goes to lay on hands and it does not work, and he/she has no idea why. This also seems more realistic. I don’t have a stat that tells me when I have congestive heart failure, but I know that eating a bag of chips and a 12 pack of soda is going to get me there, and I will know when it happens.

I don’t know, I guess I would have to see it in action first, to be sure.
